About Event

To motivate and encourage students to learn additional mathematical concepts apart from the prescribed syllabus and help them understand, appreciate and enjoy applications of Mathematics in their field of studies, Mathematics Club was established in the year 2006.

As part of the Mathematics Club, a One Day Intercollegiate Mathematics Contest "Mathophilia 2024" is being organized with the aim of

* Stimulating interest in the learning of Mathematics

* Enhancing the skills for applying Mathematics in various domains

* Providing a platform for mathematically talented students to exhibit as well as test their potential

* Creating opportunities for fruitful interaction among the students of Science and Engineering disciplines

OLYMPIAD

Individual Event: Duration: 60 minutes

Ten problems will be given; maximum possible number of them to be solved.

PAPER PRESENTATION

TEAM Event

Duration: 10 minutes

Application of Mathematics/Statistics (as applicable) in

1. Artificial Intelligence

2. Data Sciences

3. Forecasting

4. Internet of Things

5. Life Sciences

6. Material Science

7. Quantum Computing

8. Robotics

9. Signal and Image Processing

10. Structural Engineering

Illustration using a typical situation in the chosen topic, requiring the application of Mathematical / Statistical concepts, is expected.

POSTER PRESENTATION

TEAM Event

1. History of Mathematics from Ancient Origin to Modern Era

2. Mathematics in Nature

3. Role of Mathematics in Science and Technology

Poster to be prepared and a space of 1mx1m will be provided for displaying the same.

QUIZ

Team Event

Duration: 60 minutes

Five teams will be shortlisted for finals based on their performance in the prelims.

*Each team to consist of two members.
